Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is ramping down services at the COVID, Cold and Flu Care Clinic at 29 Sperling Drive in anticipation of an imminent closing on May 26, as directed by Ontario Health.

The clinic was originally created to support the needs of our community and to ensure access to timely patient care. It has served as a valuable alternative to the emergency room for residents seeking treatment for minor cold and flu symptoms.

“We are disappointed to end this service, but with the provincial government ceasing COVID-19 funding provisions, we had to close the clinic,” says Leanne Weeks, Vice President, Clinical & Chief Nursing Executive.

Both clinical and clerical staff who were working at the clinic have either had positions within RVH to return to or have been offered other positions.

As services ramp down, the clinic will be closed on weekends, and weekday office hours may fluctuate. Appointments are still available but must be made on the COVID, Cold and Flu Care Clinic booking site. No walk-ins will be accepted.

RVH is committed to ensure patients have continued access to care.  With that in mind, a new initiative for minor ailments will be announced shortly by RVH’s Emergency Department team.
